"We've been seeing lots of them too in our yard after watering.  And the holes.  My hubby thought they were hornets, but the cicada wasp makes sense, since this is the year for them!  "

Looking for computer software for gardening

Posted on May 28, 2009 at 9:18am 2 Comments

Has anyone heard of software to use for keeping track of your garden?

I wish I could easily keep track of planting dates, sprouting dates, how well the plant grew, etc.

I have 4 gardens and am a very organized person so it drives me crazy when I don't know all the info on each plant I have in each garden. LOL!

Finally, Spring in Wyoming!

Posted on May 22, 2009 at 9:04am 0 Comments

It is hard to wait for true spring up here at 7,000 feet.

They tell me you can't really count on no frost until June 10th. Well, be that as it may, I have daffodils and iris' blooming. I have sunflowers popping up out of the ground and the birds are singing like mad - so I say it is spring.

I understand everyone has different styles and specialties, I think it's great that people give back to the earth instead of always taking from the earth, whatever their skill level.I beleve we all learn something new everyday.

"Just for fun, here's a cosmos pic (C. sulphureus) and a Harrisia cactus, both blooming in the garden.  Talk about a sweet-and-salty combination:  a fluffy self sowing annual, and a durable low-water tropical cactus.  Still, they…"
