Thanks Cynthia, Do you pack it tight or loose? I picked up a couple pots and a bark mixture yesterday and was planning on transplanting this weekend. They both are happy in the tank, I guess I accomplished getting a tropical tank.

Robin,
I have been doing better with my orchids. Here in ILL. We have a
challenge, cold winter and our heating systems. I found coco char and wood chips alone too dry. You don't want wet roots though.

I now have 2 orchids, a little one and a bigger one. They are both packed tight with spagum moss in pots with no holes.

These video clips on re-potting were very informative. I have always used trial-and error, and it does not always work. Now I know why they sometimes take so long to recover.
