LOL, that's great (especially about the gardening books in a nicely labeled box).  Funny.  I thought the same thing:  you've timed it perfectly!  Can't wait for lots and lots and lots of pics and updates. …

Gardening popped into my life when I  moved miles from my home, friends and family.  I do not know how I got along for so many  years without it.  I've been away for Months and for some reason have been drawn back in to…

Thanks gals!  I am so excited I can't stand it.  Should be closing/moving about the first week of March.  Just in time to come up with plans for Spring planting.  My gardening books will be in a very well labeled box :)

Finally!  I'm in the final stages and packing up my duds :)  It's pretty much a blank slate as far as gardening goes.  I'm going to inherit a couple of roses bushes.  Nice large lot, a little dated but nothing I…

It's been a long road, but I think I finally find "the one".  If all goes well, moving probably late November/December.  If I transplant my perennials, will they be ok in a shed over winter?  I'm afraid I'll…

Lamb's Ear - How to get rid of?

Posted on May 4, 2011 at 12:13pm 1 Comment

I have a girlfriend that planted Lamb's Ear a few years ago and now it has apparently taken over her flower beds.  She's tried to dig it up, pull it and she can't get rid of it.  Does anyone have a good idea on this one?  I told her to stay away from the Weed killer :)

House Hunters

Posted on December 11, 2010 at 6:52am 8 Comments

I've been neglecting my favorite site... because I've been playing House Hunters. It's time to find a permenent residence down here in lovely Southern Indiana. I haven't look for a house in over 15 years and I think I'm better at it this go round :) But who looks for a house going into winter? I'm just checking my options and trying to figure out where I want to finally land. I live in Columbus and work in Seymour. I'm leaning…

August Blues...

Posted on August 15, 2010 at 9:07am 0 Comments

Summer is almost over and it's been a blur. I'm sitting here having my coffee and looking out the back window and my yard looks like a wasteland. I haven't posted any pictures in a while because my flowers are struggling this year. It's been dry, hot and swampy. We started out with too much rain, I was afraid my new plants would get root rot and not take off. Then the rains stopped. I've been trying to keep up with the watering, but it's impossible. Now, I'm trying to come up with some indoor… Continue

Best friends or "Sister from another Mother"

Posted on July 17, 2010 at 8:18am 0 Comments

I'm headed up North today. My best friend's father passed this week. Nila has been my friend so long I don't remember how we got started or exactly how old we were. When we were growing up I was either at her house, or she was at mine. I have some really funny pictures that measure our changes through the years, some of them are absolutely hilarious :) I just know that out of all the people in my life, she's my touchstone. We've had our ups and downs and we're constant. When my dad died, she… Continue

4th Projects

Posted on July 5, 2010 at 9:01am 0 Comments

I'm thinking about the 4th weekend. I had a good visit with the momma. She always comes down and I put her to work. We moved a brush pile that I use for the fire pit back behind the shed. This was a good thing. It got rid of a lot of bugs and mosquito's and made the back of the house look a lot better. We tore everthing out, put down some landscape fabric, stones and moved some of my potted plants over there. The area is totally transformed. I did have a moment at the Menard's when we went…

Oh come on Audra, I bet you have a lovely home. My potting shed is made from reclaimed windows,door,and tin shingles.  the gate is even  a reclaimed gate that was covered in tar. we had fun melting all of it off.:}

I was watching the news and they were monitoring the game. It was down to the final 13 seconds but they had to cut away to the next program. I had to look on the NCAA link to see who had won. This should be fun to see who wins it all. Here's hoping it is Butler again. The coach and his staff is pretty young! This will be fun to sit back and see where he eventually ends up in life. Ya know?

Thanks for the comment on my MAGGIE. She is 10 weeks old here. I was reading your post. Good luck with the hose hunting. I saw your pictures of Brown County. I live in St. Louis County, Mo. I went to a little craft town in Brown County some years ago. I can't remember the name of the town, but I bought one of those large concrete gooses. There wer two others with me. We all bought a goose. My care was almost dragging the ground in the rear going home. It was such fun. We laughed every time someone would pass us and stare at our car.
