New to Hostas,,, any tips plz ??? :)

Hello fellow Hosta gardners~!!! This is my first year to grow Hostas and mine are no where near like what you guys are growing,,, mine are just puttering along in semi- part shade more of a dry soil... Can you help a sista out on tips??? I have been bringing taking turns bringing them inside to grow in pots (with more frequent watering) I keep my house shaded mostly and all of a sudden they " Grow" .
