A Touch Of Blue ... Yes, This Really Is A MOTH!

Posted on September 16, 2011 at 7:43pm 12 Comments

When I spotted this lovely creature in the garden the other day, I promptly went off googling ‘butterflies’ and couldn’t come up with a match. I was thinking ... colourful, scalloped wings ... butterfly, right!  Uh, uh! Thankfully my hubbie suggested I should search for a moth instead ……

Posted on February 12, 2011 at 11:00pm 3 Comments

Some of you may be aware that Queensland, Australia has had its fair share of significant weather events already this year.  2011 has started with flooding across three-quarters of my home state and possibly the largest ever cyclone to cross our coast.

I live in the north of Queensland and whilst our area missed the flooding, we did indeed experience part of Cyclone Yasi's wrath!  For further reading of just what it was like to be caught up in the path of the massive Category…

Here's a link to my Mosaic Monday post with some images of the flooding across half my state.…

Hello Bernadette thankyou so much for the xmas card it is was too late to send one back , I will pop some broms in the post for you in the next week. I hope you had a lovely christmas ours was a quite affair at my sisters. I have family coming down in feb for another wedding. They are flying and hiring a car down here. But that depends on the rain and if they can get out at that time hopefully there will be no flooding up there.

"Joan, I researched this for ya. Yucca like to be planted in sandy or rocky soil and like full sun. Do not over or under water them. Yucca are very hardy and pretty well take care of themselves. Just cut of the dead leaves in the Spring...…"
