Not sure if Bill is still around, but At Orlando's Leu Botanical Garden, they prune and remove all leaves starting as soon after Valentine Day as possible. I've found the popular Knockout Rose can be heavily pruned back at any time of year…

I have a note on my calendar to hard prune the roses by 1/3 or 1/2 in late february. Remove weak stems & limit bushes to no more than 7 strong stems.

You can prune anytime, but the best time I have found is in late February to do the annual hard prune.

Hi Nancy Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Just now had a chance to check the site for messages. How big are you pups [little orchid plants]? If they are 4-6 inches go ahead and pot them up on their own. Happy Gardening....... Bill

Good Morning All One of my favorites, although I'm not sure if it is considered a true succulant, is the Elephants Foot - Dioscorea elephantipes. The ones I have is small about 6-8 inches across but the manner of growth is so facinating. Last…

Howdy Jacksonvilleboy Really nice pictures. Personally, I do not think I would risk it. I live in Cocoa, Florida south of you and last year the cold killed mine back to the ground. Friends who have them on Merritt Island, only a few miles closer to…

Hi Nancy You may want to leave them alone for a bit and let them grow a little. Then you can remove them and pot up sperately.

Hello Fellow Gardeners

Below are just a few pictures of the plants that are growing in my yard. I am located in Zone 9B or 10 depending on who's book you read. It gets pretty cold here and anything from Zone 10 will be, at the very least, killed back to the ground in a hard winter. Lost Bottle Palms, Jacaranda and African Tulip Trees last winter :( At any rate, just want to say Hi and if anyone is located in my area [Cocoa, Florida] I have many seedlings coming up which could use a home or will fall prey to the compost pile. Happy gardening to all.................

Hugs
Bill

Hi Bill,
The passion vine you asked about is Anastasia. Logees in Connecticut is an excellent source for passion vines. they have a terrific selection and every year we try different varieties. Being in Florida you could do well.

We are in Northern IL but we try anyway and have had good luck with them.

I placed a couple of tomato pics for you on the Bugs group. Would you please take a look and let me know your opinion of what is troubling my poor tomstoes? Thank you.

Bill. Your pictures are beautiful. As you may remember, I am just north of you in Edgewater (New Smyrna Beach) area. I just singed on to inquire about your cotton plants.... and as I read below you are offering seedlings???? I am very interested, as I thought when I read about them on the main page. Let me know how we can connect here. I'd be happy to drive down.

I'd love to have some seeds. Do they require a long growing season? It would be fun to see if they would grow here. The birds would love the cotton. Bonnie

When we went to Florida several years ago we saw cotton growing in fields, we followed the cotton trail to a cotton gin and they showed us around and gave us some cotton. We were so happy to see how it was growing, My aunt in texas sent us some one year when we were children and it was neat then. so this was extra special for me. Our neighbor said it is not legal to send cotton seeds to different parts of US because of something.??? Is this true, he was amazed the guy gave us seeds too.
