Thank you Brenda, I got the seeds in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to get to plant them. Anything I should know/ suggestions?
FYI You might want to write "hand cancel" on envelopes with seeds, at least bigger seeds, the envelope was ripped on the one corner, then taped up and sent on it's way. (stamped on "received in damaged condition"), but the seeds are fine and the baggy they are in! :-D

Brenda, did I ever reply to this? I would like to try if you're still willing. I don't have a lot, but I'd be willing to share some seed with you as well! :-)

Sharon,
The vine is a "Purple Hyacinth Vine". Would be glad to send you some seed, if you
will email me with your address. We plant 3 at one time and makes a nice group. The
flower in the pic above my name, is the flower.

Brenda, thanks for the comment. However, my last name is David... not my first. LOL. Its a common mistake people make, but just wanted to clarify. Look forward to hearing from you & following your gardening adventures.

Oh no Brenda! How awful. Ahh those stories that we would probably laugh sadly at as well (or hopefully can later). No permanent damage, right?

What a great idea for recycling plastic. Will have to try some of the matress companies around here to see what I can salvage. Will be breaking ground within the next 30 days... if the creeks don't rise!

Brenda -

I don't know where you can go to find plastic barrels.... here you can buy them at the local Mom & Pop grocery store for $10.
The barrels I have are black, from the Mt Oilve (the pickle company that may or may not be available in your area) factory. They are about 2 hours from where I live.

Anyway, I want to use the barrels, filled with water as THERMAL MASS. Google that and it will give you a lot of bg for what I want to do. The water will slowly heat during the day, and radiate that heat at night. I also want (or really my wife wants me) to add a rainwater collection barrel, that will form a gravity feed to a shower in the greenhouse. The wife has a problem with me coming in covered in dirt, tracking it all of the way to the shower.
So, I will add a shower and a hanger for a robe, and an extra pair of Croxs, and I should be cool.
Hopefully will get this project started in the next 60 days.
Have been swamped at work, and its still too hot for yard work at the end of the day.
Stay tuned... photos to follow
