I didn't know that about skunks...carrying rabies and seemingly not being affected. I guess I'll shoot the next one that lingers in my path. I sure don't want to get rabid. My wife tells me I'm crazy…

I've heard of a simple skunk odor remedy...no boiling clothes, no washing, no smoke fires, no tomato sauce, etc. Just dig a hole, stand in front of it...and shoot yourself!

I spend lots of time in my garden and seem to be adicted to buying plants. I also read a lot and if you have been here you know we have quite a selection of used book stores.
Do either of you have Dahilias and/or irises? Do tou bring in your bulbs every year? Last year I had dahilias ( a beautiful collection which I had planted in the cround and in containers ) and Irises. None of the Dahilias have returned and all the Irises are back. I guess it was a costly error
