Karen, that Statesman article didn't appear when I clicked on the link.  The link appears to be truncated on the right-hand side.

I didn't know that about skunks...carrying rabies and seemingly not being affected.  I guess I'll shoot the next one that lingers in my path.  I sure don't want to get rabid.  My wife tells me I'm crazy…

Thought I'd weigh in on the 'benefits' of skunks as anteaters (since I started this whole 'dealing with ant hills thread').... Skunks may be good at eating the ant hills (not sure)... The BIG downside to skunks in my book…

Hi Harry, There is not enough tomato juice in the nation to keep our stupid pets smelling decent, I think our county mascot is the stripped skunk. We've tried an expensive skunk wash from the farm bureau with not much success.…

I've heard of a simple skunk odor remedy...no boiling clothes, no washing, no smoke fires, no tomato sauce, etc.  Just dig a hole, stand in front of it...and shoot yourself!           (Just kidding!!!)   BTW,…

I hate to say it but skunks will eat your ants. We have a hay operation in Southern Oregon and for years we would dispatch the skunks into their next lives when ever we saw them. They were such a problem for the dog and cats, I've even had my…

I do not live close to either of you but it might be closer by the end of the week when the bridge opens. I hope it does as I may have a doctor's appointment in Seattle.
I spend lots of time in my garden and seem to be adicted to buying plants. I also read a lot and if you have been here you know we have quite a selection of used book stores.
Do either of you have Dahilias and/or irises? Do tou bring in your bulbs every year? Last year I had dahilias ( a beautiful collection which I had planted in the cround and in containers ) and Irises. None of the Dahilias have returned and all the Irises are back. I guess it was a costly error
I am not familiar with my new ruby red lap top my daughter bought for me. And so far there is no spell check. Hope to hear from you.
shalom,

I live in South Kitsap and am waiting a few more weeks. I have "coddled" them in my greenhouse with heat and lights so am not going to take a chance to set them out too early

Hi, I'm glad to see someone in this group so close to Bothell. I'd like to know if you have plant your tomatoes yet? I'm thinking I need to wait a few more weeks. ~S~
