Anyone know what this flower is?

"Sue, you're good, "moon flower" is one of the beautiful common names for it too.  It's so appropriate, isn't it?  Select Seeds has seeds of this species (they list it as D. meteloides, a synonym for D.…"

Anyone know what this flower is?

"Beautiful!  It's definitely a Datura, probably Datura wrightii (sometimes listed as D. meteloides).  I grow a ton of it in my garden and LOVE the scent on a hot summer night.  Great pic, by the way, thanks for sharing it!"

"OK, I guess no Chicago gardeners are interested in sharing ideas or progress. I thought "Chi-town was a realgardening city with all our parks and parkways. Guess not. So....goodbye."

MIDWEST GARDENING: CHICAGO ILLINOIS ZONE 5 - CHRISTINE MOSCINSKI

Hi! I am Christine a Realtor and Marketing and Internet Pro. I live with my kids, husband, our bloodhound Maxx, 2 adopted cats and 1 adopted cockatoo - YES I AM BUSY!

I live in La Grange, Illinois just outside of Chicago and I lOVE to garden when I have time because it relaxes and calms me.

Also, it's my first time growing domestic exotics (Datura and Castor plant) and I just split and transplanted my old fashioned pink rose to share with my neighbors.

We'll see if they thrive as well as they do in my yard!

Christine, I have seen the castor bean seeds and you will probably have to scrape them along the edge until you see the white part and soak for a couple of hours and then plant it.
