Hi Debora, Just thought I would see it you ever pop in here.  I have been away a good while but recently wandered back in to have a look about.  Hope you are well.

Your lantana...how long have you had it? Sounds huge? I have planted them often and some do get big but never come back. I thought they were an annual here. Have pulled out a lot of honeysuckle. It does smell good though. I battle that nasty vine with the thorns, new the name once but have forgotten it.

I have been busy planting a few replacement hostas. I lost SO many. I think now it was voles, based aon ifo in the Pest group. Humph!! Nasty things! I put in a bunch of impatients. I know they are very common and someone made a comment in Zone 7 I think, one time about how boring they are. But I do like them!! And since we have been having fairly decent rain as the summer has continues it hasn't been too hard to keep them watered. Putting in ferns. Went on the Ga Native Plant Society website and picked out a BUNCH of plants to look for. We will see what I find. Will wait a while as I have put a good bit of money into the garden so far this year...got a little carried a way. And spruced up with mulch. Sooooo....we shall see. I haven't put anymore photos on here, I haven't taken much lately and shade gardens don't bloom too much. Will see what I can scrounge up...

I just closed on the house this morning. We are going back to Florida Wednesday and will be moving up here for good on Labor Day weekend. Tomorrow I am going to clear a bunch of stuff on the lot and do a lot of pruning. The house has been vacant all year so getting all the clearing done will be a good sized job. I would LOVE to plant at least something while I am here but I don't know if I can trust it to rain enough with a new plant.
Thanks for checking. Its sweet of you. Come Labor Day I will be relying on your great advise to get going! Have a great weekend. I am so excited to be playing at the house tomorrow!

Did you get rain today? We did and I'm so thankful for every drop that fell. Hope we get more tonight, my plants and grass really need all the rain it can get.
See you later.

Thank you. I am glad you thought I could garden in the fall. I didn't know if I could or not since it seems every year you have a freeze. Florida is so different. So what type of chores or planting do I do in the fall? Do I do bulbs or what do you like to do in the fall? Thanks for your input.

Debora - thank you for your comments about my Hydrangea's In Idaho I posted on the blog. I didn't know how to respond through the blog or even if you could. Your tips are most appreciated and really helpful. Have a good afternoon. 90's here again today but we don't get the humidity that you guys have.

Hi Deborah, thanks for your kind words this morning. They helped me out. I am having a little bit of a hard time leaving so many pretty plants. I call my garden the orphin garden. It was created almost solely from plants that were on clearance at my local Lowes. All shriveled up and brown. It has been a delight to give them a home and give them beauty.
So this morning I din't go to church and had church time in my garden taking "cuttings" from those plants that will survive where I am going to be moving to. It made me much happier being pro active and taking some of "the orphins" with me!
Where is Madison?
