"I love Iris also, down here in zone 9, they seem to wilt pretty fast, and the tubors seem to get fungus because of the humidity, i grow them in pots, but they have all died off, had them for about 5 years.   Deb In Lithia, Fl Zone 9  "

Thank you Deborah, pots are a very good idea for areas with bad soil. I don't know if it is shown in the photos but I do have a lot of plants in pots, Hostas, Azaleas, rhododendrons, Petunias, Iris will do well in pots. Almost everything will do well in pots, look at the nurseries and even arboretums have many plants in pots and that takes care of any soil problems. You can do beautiful things with pots. In a few of my photos that show a multi trunked tree in the back yard, I have a lose stacked stone wall around it and all of the plants around it are in pots on different height stands to give it a rounded layered look. Thank you for the Spring cheer! We also have had rain for the past couple of days...spring is coming (a bit slower in Michighan)...but it's coming! This time for your pleasure, I have an early wildflower...can't take credit for its existance.
