Hi Diane, I notice we both belong to the pet club and you were asking about a pet carrier for your cat to go on vacation. I'm a travel agent and you need to make sure the cat is up to date on all her shots from the vet and take that with your to the airport also the pet carrier er has to fit under the seat. I have one of the soft sided ones that work perfectly and fit under with know problems. Make sure you've told the airlines you will be bringing a pet on board they have a strict limit on how many are allowed on each flight and it's like 2 . Most of the airlines are charging for your pet now too. You wouldn't want any surprises at the airport on the day of travel! If you need any help with flights call me 865-933-4406 Robin Zaleski

Diane, I don't cut my butterfly bushes back until early spring. I take them back to about 12 inches from the ground. After the first bloom I trim each bloom off and they bloom several times more for me. I also leave my black eyed susans until spring. I find that the birds like to use them for shelter in the winter and also eat the seeds. I just take them down to the base when the new shoots start to show. I like to see the snow on the dead branches and it offers protection for the birds also.

Oh and if you are south of Butler area we have a zone 5/6 type of weather...depends on the weather...if the snow comes from the east like this past week things usually freeze easier...if from the west it is usually a bit milder.

GO STEELERS...1 more win...going for # 7

Diane,

I never cut back my black-eyed susans. I probably should but they reseed themselves and the bloom is gorgeous and abundant the next season.

"Not a pine tree, but related. It's some type of Cycad. Conifers (which a Pine is) belongs in the family of Gymnosperms. So do Cycads, Gingko and other cone bearing plants like Ephedra. Cycads are ancient. Precursors to Conifers.  "
