Emma - regarding the hydrangea - my bush is just huge, and yes I cut it back every March to the ground. The spiderwort is in a sunny, dry spot, but I take care to give them a good soak once a week or so.
Hi Tracey I have an Hydranga like this, but it doesn't bloom well. Iv'e had it for about 3or4 years. Do you cut all the old canes back or not? That may be my mistake.

Hi Emma! That flower you were asking about is a calla lily, but I don't know the exact name....sorry!!! By the way...LOVE your red hot pokers! I can't seem to keep mine growing past 6 inches! I better move them!!!....oh, and how long have you had your clematis? Mine is super new, and was wondering how long you have had yours, it's HUGE! =0)
Hi Emma!
Thanks for your comment on my planter photo. Yes, I thunk it up myself. The big pot on the base is one. The tilted ones are all one piece made out of terra cotta. The top one is plastic and a rod goes down to secure all. I planted atrawberries in each pocket making a huge straberry pot.
Your gardens are wonderful as well. Keep those hands dirty!
Hi Emma,
It was a sure pleasure looking at all of your pictures of your garden and the cute little boy. :-)
Isn't it so wonderful to sit and watch the garden grow. This is what I call my happy place, it gives me peace and tranquility. Does that do that for you?
I especially love how you wrapped the gardens around the house. I think it showcase your house beautifully!
Yes I am very new to the site and I am sure that I will enjoy it because we all have one thing in common we love digging the dirt..
Also thanks for adding me as a friend.
Emma, your gardens are gorgeous! I love the water pump and other fixtures you have added in here and there. Hostas are one of my favorites and I love the way you have created the perfect "English" garden. Kudos!
Hey Emma, Our dog is 16 months old, purebreed border collie, short haired. The majority of border collies people are familar with are long haired. Yes, your dog looks very similar. Sally weighs about 37 lbs. She is extremely active and intelligent. I had adopted a dog before Sally, that passed away about 6 months before we purchased Sally. That dog was a rescue dog and she was either a purebred border collie or mixed border collie. The border collies love to run and "herd".Our other dog did too when she was younger. Her name was Bebe. She was shorter than Sally but weighed the same. Borders have an intense gaze, which your dog looks like she has. Nice yard by the way. Have a good day also. Mary
