I learned the hard way that one of the keys to success with peonies is not to plant them too deep. The eyes (little pink buds) on the tuber can't be more than an inch and a half or two inches below the ground. If you plant them too deep, they won't flower. They also need a good amount of sun. If you get those two things right, peonies can be among the most beautiful and longest lived perennials in your garden.

I love Duvall, it is such a pretty little town. I used to go through there when traveling from Goldendale to Camano to visit my Mom. I like it and Carnation. Pretty country.
