"Jack, I think I know what you mean by expanding and contracting: its full of water when its on making it expand..I plant the seedling on the sides not directly on the tape line, and hold it in place with soil staples. "

Rose in Santa Barbara, CA replied to Jack Ellis's discussion Anybody use drip tape irrigation? in the group Vegetable Gardens
"Hi Jack, I use the thin drip tape, put it on top and I use soil staples, loosely, to keep them in place. I don't see expansion or contraction happening here."

Anybody use drip tape irrigation?

We are just getting into drip tape. We have always got our water from a small lake, but it dried-up in the drought last year, so we reactivated an old well and installed a drip tape system on four small plots.Do you lay it on top or bury it? Do you buy the heavy gauge expensive tape or the thin throw-away stuff? We bought the stronger 15mm and we have buried a few rows of it 12" deep. But it must have "floated up" or something because the big tiller caught it (whatta mess!!) and the tiller was…See More

Hey Jack,I just got your message "Hi, Lila  --  Got your friend request but I'm not sure how to respond to it. I'm still learning this software - all these different "groups" have me pretty well confused. What's the difference between a "comment wall" and a regular discussion thread?" I'm sorry can you please refresh my memory and tell me where amd when we had an exchange and what about? Thanks:)---A comment wall is where you recieve  comments on your wall or someones else's wall (on thiers or your page) and a discussuion thread is the particular subject in a discussion group.Hope that helps:) Yes there are many Organic gardeners here but there are all types and all are welcome.I have had the blessing of knowing many kind people here,a true treasure nowadays.Welcome to Garden Share Jack.
