Weeding for the Blind.

Our women's group had a guest speaker. The subject was "Weeding for the Blind." Well, I thought that would be so helpful if I had to come to our Children's Garden at night and weed. I could use all the tips I could get and be able to weed in the dark. As the speaker got into the program, I realized that the topic was "Reading for the Blind." We all had a good chuckle.

Tree Stump with love

While driving down the road I noticed this heart shaped stump. It is connected with the trunk otherwise I would have put it in my garden.

What is this bug?

This bug is rusty orange, various shades. It has camouflage on it legs which look like dried leaves. It blends right in on the plant. I've lived in Florida for 26 years and never noticed it before.See More

Hi Jean, I hope you are doing well. Good to hear from you. I'm not sure what happened to pets in the garden. It does seem to be gone.
Thanks for the contact about native plants. I'll make sure to send AnnMarie a note. Take care.

Hi, Jean boy are we on the same page, I too love the serenity of being in the garden, it's a peaceful place. It's such a great idea having the children's garden, I love the idea of the stepping stone and the bible quotes, I think I will mention this to the childrens ministry at church, it's something I would be willing to help out with. Putting things in the childrens garden that they can climb under like tepee's with climbing plants, sweet pea's would be a good one, my neighbor has a tree that looks like a umbrella, something that the kids could play under. Love, love the idea, and I love the name you picked out for the group, thanks for sharing this with me, you've put your passion for garden to good use and will give the kids an appreciation for the beautiful things in nature that God created. I bet it puts a smile on a lot of faces.

A friend gave me a Frangipani last year, although I didn't know it's name until seeing it in your pictures just now. Mine is supposed to bloom pink, and that's about all I know about it. It's in a pot and has to be brought in for the winter. Any tips you have would be welcomed. They seem to tolerate drought and moisture, but I'm not sure what is best.

Hi Jean,
Seeing the photo of the poinciana tree makes me want to be in the tropics. If I remember, they usually bloom in May. The orange and green against the deep blue sky is great.
