Hi Jessica, I have red wigglers, the kind that make castings. I have them in a tote like Matthew demonstrates in my sewing room/plant room now worm bin. They need to be kepted at around 70F.They are very easiy, they do not smell either. They are not earth rooms that live outside. They make great worm compost much quicker than an outside compost heap. I make worm tea to water plants, best fertilizer ever. Your recyled dog pool will work great for outdoor composter. Just drill holes in bottom for water.

welcome Jessica to Composting & Vermicomposting. A couple of us are doing worm bins. So far I have not lost any so I must be doing it right.

they like banana peels cut up and put in the freezer, when you take them out they are mushy for them. Veggies I chopped in blender then put in freezer.

Enjoy your flowers and veggie plantings.
