Columbines and hybrids

Looking for some advice. Last year I planted 2 Columbines not knowing what colors they were going to be. I planted them very early, just after Mother's day so there were no buds yet. One bloomed yellow and white and one bloomed solid yellow. I did not deadhead them and I let them go to seed. They stopped early, but later in the summer (around late July-early Aug) I got a small second showing. I let those go to seed as well.
