"Wow Kathie, how wonderful! I have never heard of this. I do have Pineapple Sage in my front garden, which not only smells divine, but has the most beautiful luminous pink flowers."

"They smell wonderful!  The picture doesn't do it justice, the leaves are much more luminescent that that, I'd like to plant several more this year."

The extra fencing i added eventually fell backward to form a tunnel, which gave the dogs even better access to a feast of beans!

"I'm going to try it, I like the idea of leaving them to germinate on their own, sounds so much easier than starting indoors under lights, and cheaper!  I got Earthgro potting soil from home depot because it was about a third of the price…"

Winter Sowing

Winter Sowing is an easy seed germination method that allows you to start many seedlings for little cost. During the Winter months seeds are sown into mini-greenhouses that you make yourself from recycled containers, such as milk jugs, soda and juice bottles, take out food containers, etc.  After sowing, the mini-greenhouse is placed outside to wait for the end of Winter. The seeds will begin to germinate at their own right time when weather warms. (Courtesy of WinterSown.Org)See More

Welcome to Garden-Share! You might want to start by checking out the Group page for garden-related groups and topics you may be interested in. Joining a few groups is a great way to meet other gardeners and get started on Garden-Share.

Then please participate! Groups are the best places to ask questions and share your knowledge about gardening.

Also, there are Videos to watch (how-to, humor), Blogs to read (informative, entertaining), Photos to look at (beautiful, unusual, inspiring), and new friends to meet. If you have photos (or videos) of your plants or garden, please share them - I'd love to see your photos!

Again, welcome! :)

"Hi Cindi, glad you like them, but oh no. Most Bowling balls are much too heavy for me. I use those big foam balls from the craft store. Much lighter and easier to work with, and you can stick things in them. Put on a coat of adhesive grout…"
