"Both good suggestions. Another is to surround your pond with red lava rock. Cats, squirrels and raccoons don't like the feel of it on their paws. And don't forget that cats love to go fishing and could very well be the culprit!"

Racoon Ate Some of the Koi - Very Sad !!!

We went out this morning and the plants were all upside down and we are missing some of our Koi fish. We think a racoon got them. Anyone have any suggestions to keep the racoons away. This is the first time that this has happened. My very first Koi, a big orange one, is one of the ones missing. I am very, very sad.

Rain barrel system for adding water to pond.

I was so impressed by my husband that I had to let people know what he did. He added gutters that run water into a large tank. From the tank he added a pipe to our pond, so when the pond needs water, he just opens the valve and we fill the pond with nice clean rain water. He is going to also add a spicket (sp) so that I can fill the watering can and water the container plants. This is one of the reasons that I married this great guy.

I went to one of their meetings last year early. I think the Lurvey's employee did a talk that day. Do they have a website? Do you go often?
