Linda Wallace Zone 8b Washington replied to Charmaine Gill's discussion 'Lupine' in the group Perennials
Hi Charmaine: I wish I had a good answer from you. I know Lupine is easy to grow from seed, as I started some this year (from a packet). What I am trying is tying a plastic bag over the seed pods so that they ripen and fall I can catch them.…

That is definitely a peony. I have about 12 of them that appear to be the exact same variety.

Page, my butterfly bush is a Buddleia (or Buddleja, I have seen it both ways). Anyone else have experience with this plant?

Hi Jackie: i just bought three of the carpet flower roses this year, and am very excited to see how they do. I read in a magazine that they are similar to Knockout in terms of being easy and long blooming. They recommended planting it on a sunny…

A big contributor to scent in my yard are butterfly bushes. I think of them as summer lilacs, as the blooms are similar, and the scent fills the garden. However, just like lilacs, they can get very large. I prune mine up as small trees. Another…

They r fragrant but need to b planted in groups of 3 or more as the fragrant is not what I call strong.

Hi! Love your pictures. I think it's so funny how so many of us gardeners have similar "other" interests.
Stop by and say Hi!

Beautiful hellebore shots. Nice photos.

I am not familiar with the Donkey Tails Euphorbia. When you say they are poisonous, what exactly does this mean? Are they poisonous to humans and how is the poison transmitted? Deadly or just very ill reaction. I'm curious, just in case I decide to plant one for my pesky neighbour who often glares at me whenever I'm gardening! I wouldn't want to kill him, but perhaps I could offer it to him as a "Peace Offering!"

Thanks Linda for sending the nice notel. It sure was another beautiful day here in Kent too! Hopefully we'll have some more sunshine before it begins to rain.... which my garden would love!

Thanks for the praise, Linda.
I do work hard for that effect; I take advantage of my art background and apply the same principles to the landscape as I would to a painting.
