Clematis growing in our back garden

"This clematis has a special place in my heart. I am starting one now but had to give up two in previous homes that were gigantic---spread 30 ft. One made a lovely curtain on 3 sides of a 14 x 20 patio. It did that in just 4 yrs!"

"Sure are putting on a spectacular show. These giants crowd around under the weeping birches. They reach for the sky-- some up to about 25 ft."

"This yard is sooo amazing. It came with all my favorite landscaping plants plus a few more like this purple leaf tree. With the ferns, heather & pines it looks like a professional was designing his own hideaway."

"Don't know the name for this azelea. I call it Apple Blossom Froth. I am probably at a bit higher elevation than you Diane. My rhodies are in full regalia still (except the rain might do them in today) I am glad I have been taking photos all…"

Feeling Blessed!

I am the most fortunate of people to be able to finally retire to the rural acreage we love surrounded by mountains, horses, children and my lovely Lady Saphira. We comb the trails every day & watch the stars by night. Truly magnificent!

Yes, that's for sure!  I hope that He finds me acceptable.....I fall short many times, but keep on trying!

How come not many butterflies where you are?  I just assumed there were some types in all parts of the country!   I'm sorry, but I didn't see where you are from?

Water features are WONDERFUL!  I had a small koi fish pond in my backyard when I lived in town, but now that we've moved to the country we have a 1 acre sized pond with catfish (and who knows what else water monsters are lurking in the bottom! haha)

I really would like to do some landscaping around the pond, but I'm so impatient! I'd like to have it done....yesterday!  haha.

It's SO blistering hot here in the summers, and no real water source that far from the house other than to dip it from the pond (I'm pretty short and always take the chance of falling in on my nose!)

I am planning to put some plants in this fall, so they'll have the fall rains and winter wet followed by the spring dowsing to get settled in.

One thing I really miss from living in town is my beautiful lush lawn!  The rocks multiply out here daily! HA!  BUT, looking at the silver lining, we rake the rocks up and use them to border the flower beds, then fill in with good dirt.....NOTHING wants to grow in this clay!!   I SWEAR I am going to start scooping it up and make my own pots!

I hope your kiddo comes back to live with you.....sounds like you're rather attached.  Fostering is bitter-sweet, isn't it.

Hi Lorraine,  thanks for adding me as a friend!  I enjoyed your photos.

Yes, I have relatives over there and from what I hear, my nephew and his family are right in the thick of it!

I expect we are in the beginnings of what the bible refers to as "pangs of distress".

I sure we'll be seeing and hearing of food shortages all over the world.  I wish I had been smarter about saving seeds!!!  I guess we'll be eating mushrooms!  haha.  Thank goodness we have chickens and get plenty of eggs from them.....(I've always said I would never butcher them, but I guess ya never know!)

We can but keep the faith.
