"Yes Lorraine, you can touch them, there are lots of different varieties, sizes, colours etc. I have a smaller variety in my front garden. The birds adore them for the nectar they get from them. The one above always reminds me of a corn cob!"
"Thanks Joan, I never tire of visiting this lovely place. We catch the ferry up the river from Sydney and then walk along the river path to here. Plus being on the ferry gives us a chance to look at all the lovely waterside gardens!"

"I've found that the "trick" to getting decent pictures of hummingbirds is to use a camera with a really good zoom lens. When the hummers are around, I zoom in and fix the focus on the birdfeeder and then snap the pics when the hummer…"
Agreed, Lorraine, that these colors are soothing on a hot day. This hydrangea is planted on the shady (northeast-facing) side of the garden, which keeps it from getting scorched on really hot days."
