"This rose looks so perfect. I just planted my 3rd rose called royal highness a very light pink but very strong fragrance so it reads.  I have always stayed away from roses because I don't like the plant, but I want cut flowers so here I go…"

"very pretty. I love this web site as know I know the names of some flowers I have, like this one! It is an amazing flower that blooms all summer with hardly no effort on my part."

Melvin -

If you ever make it a little further south to the Raleigh, NC area, there is a nursery you should hit, unlike anything I have seen in the DC, or NORVA area. They are on the web at www.plantdelights.com. We hit them once or twice a year on their openhouse weekends.

I shop around at different nurseries all around Virginia and MD. I also order online from www.carruthstudio.com "they are really reasonably priced"

Hello Melvin. If you are referring to my wooden raised beds, they are pretty simple. 2 - 2x12x12 pressure treated wood, connected at corners with 2 - 6" lag bolts and washers. I used 4 - 2' long rebar driven into the ground inside the beds as stakes. Used fencing nails "U" to hold the beds level. Then backfilled with gravel over weed fabric. I left 24" paths between beds, but I should have left 30" to 36". It's a little tight for a wheelbarrow. Finished bed size is about 4'9" x 7'3", but you can proportion to whatever size works best in your space. I built some beds about 10 years ago and they held up well. I will be reusing the lumber for some additional beds this summer.

As for the stone wall raised beds, a slightly different story. Lots of hard work last summer. Quite a bit more investment. I love the finished product and will be adding more this summer. Would be glad to forward information on what I did.
