- Hi Nina, Thanks so much for your viewing of my pictures. These beautiful orange flowers are known as Red Bird of Paradise here in AZ. They grow all over the interstate here. They are planted and watered once a week so they are heat tolerant. I cut them about 6 inches from the soil when they are done and evry year they get fuller and fuller. The butterflies and humming birds love them.
