My hummers are doing a feeding frenzy right now, which is cool to watch, but I know they are getting ready to leave me for warmer weather. I will miss them so!
Well,my hummingbirds are back, so I'm guessing the weather did have a lot to do with them. I just keep refreshing the nectar and hope for the best. all of my flowers are blooming now too, so that is helping. Thanks for all of your replies.

Thelma, I am the one who sent the seeds, and I am so glad to hear they came up.
I am just now getting the first signs of blooms on my Cleome's and my orange Cosmo's are also getting ready to bloom. Enjoy them....
Well, we have had some pretty good storms here and in Holmes Co. up north.
Hopefully it quiets down now and summer weather will be here. All my flowers are doing just great and the hummers are humming all around them. My husband and I watched a…
Still waiting for hummers to show, it should be this week. My wisteria is starting to bloom, and now with this rain alot of my flowers should come to life.
Nina I wanted to let you know how very kind and sweet you are. The UPS came by a few days ago and to my surprise there were the seeds from you, I was so Happy to get them I rush into the house got out my gardne gloves and went to work. I wanted you to know I think that was so kind of you, I will post picture when they bloom. Again Thank you
Hello Nina, I just saw your post on the Hummingbird Group and had to come to your page. No pictures? :-(
Anyway, I'm a bit envious because you are in Sidney...do you go to the Spring Hill $1 sale each year? I haven't been to it since I moved from the Dayton area, but last year I made the trip and I apparently was not meant to. I had delays the whole way (the whole day) and ended up getting there right when it was closing for the day on the last day of the sale. I most definitely will be going this year & taking advantage of it (buying lots of the same plant cheap!) :-)

Hi Nina I came across yoour question on the hummingbird page, its fine to cut things back, I live in NEPA same zone as you, and I have started to cut a few things back, some plants are still very much alive and I will wait until they die off. I always leave the coneflowers, I dont even deadhead the coneflowers because the birds especially the goldfinches *LOVE* the seeds from this plant, it also helps get new plants, by leaving the seeds it helps produce new plantswhich is always a lovely surprize! Hope this helps!! Judi
LOL, you said you brought back seeds from Alaska... I just went to Montana, and was on a hike looking at all kinds of wild flowers... seeing if any had gone to seed so I could bring some home. I wish the Sage Brush had them, I'd love to have a little piece of 'the west' in my backyard, but no luck. Maybe someone on this site has seeds? IDK. Everybody thought I was nuts when I was looking down most of the time during our hike. I don't feel so alone now!!! Thanks!!!
hi there :} i have delphinium all over the place. i love them! i tend to leave the flowers as they are. sometimes i pluck the spent blooms off because they look 'sad', but the seed pods still mature. that way, i'll have more plants AND the flowers won't look like i don't take care of them, LOL. it seems to work with most of my plants... like my shasta daisies, daylily, and rose of sharon (OMG, i think ROS would survive a nuclear meltdown! they grow everywhere and anywhere!!!!)... good luck!!!!!!
Hi Nina, In BIRDS AND BLOOMS there is directions to make some hummingbird feeders with a coke bottle, copper wire, stopper and a few red beads.. I cant wait to make a few of these..
Don't worry about it......no one else was offended. Well except her and she is rude. It is called networking and the purpose is to get information if you have a question. Happy Gardening....smile
I think it is called ediblearrangements.com or something like that. I have seen it also but never ordered. If that is not it...google it I'm sure it will be there. What a great idea.....Good Luck
