Patricia, your gardens look like a park, absolutely beautiful. Although you are not able to spend as much time as you would like in your garden, you have created great beauty for all of us to enjoy.

Hi Patricia, I too am a beginner, and having so much fun with gardening. Your garden is beautiful and I love the way you designed the terracing. I have some terracing requiring attention and will incorporate your gardening ideas.

Page: No, I don't have a son living in Florida. It's a rather common last name. You photographs are interesting...and the tropical flowers are lovely!

Thank you Penelope. I have already removed the two day lily plants on the sides of the hosta as I really want the hosta to be the focal point and the lillies, after dying out, just add a messy look. I will take a new photo as things progress...We…

You liked the window box I included in photos: isn't it simple to gather such beauty with "easy" flowers to grow? I think the trick is to capture just the "right colors" of the impatience and then the verigated vines. All…

What a beautiful property! Love seeing the deer. I live on five acres, partly wooded, and rarely see deer. And I love the window box. What do you have planted in it?

Hi! Welcome to the site. Funny for me to say that because I've only been on here for a week or two.
Your pictures are great, and how lucky are you to be bordering a preserve. The house I grew up on was the same way, and I can't tell you how great it was.
Perennials are great, and after the initial work, they require little maintenance; just weeding g and separating. You can look and see if your town has a garden club, or plant exchange. It's a great way to acquire new plants, but also a great way to get rid of plants when it's time to separate them.
You have lots of space for gardening, you just have to start thinking "outside the box". I know people that once they caught "the bug", they gradually did away with their entire back lawn. Their yard is nothing but flower-beds; and her husband was grateful that he doesn't have to mow anymore.
Best of luck with your new house.

Im a big fan of Jerry Baker. He has alot of practical ideas that use basic ingredients. (some are a little odd). I would google his name and see what you can come up with. Good luck!
