"Bridget, I know it is late in the season for this comment, but I wanted to share with you and everyone else how I managed to make my Square foot garden. It does require a little bit of cutting and a little bit of drilling but it is really cheap in…"

Growing Up

This is going to be my second year at attempting to do the whole square foot gardening thing. I have plenty of room to grow enough for my whole family or at least I hope. But I wanted to try my hand at growing vertical this year to get even more. I am looking for ways to grow my veggies vertically that are easy, cheap and won't be an eye sore to the rest of the neighborhood. Does anyone out there have any ideas they care to share?See More

Winter Sowing

Winter Sowing is an easy seed germination method that allows you to start many seedlings for little cost. During the Winter months seeds are sown into mini-greenhouses that you make yourself from recycled containers, such as milk jugs, soda and juice bottles, take out food containers, etc.  After sowing, the mini-greenhouse is placed outside to wait for the end of Winter. The seeds will begin to germinate at their own right time when weather warms. (Courtesy of WinterSown.Org)See More
