Saving Sunflower Seed for next year?

Posted on October 1, 2009 at 9:13am 2 Comments

I had giant sunflower this year and have a ton of sunflower seed pods! They were just beautiful and I was wondering how I save the seeds so I can give them away or sell them. Does anyone know the method of preserving the seeds so they will produce wonderful sunflowers again next year?

thanks, Paula, I will look for someone here in the Orlando area. Is it expensive?

Hi, Paula
I love your grey edging! Looks like it would be great for my flower beds. Where did you buy it?

Hi Paula,
I have heard that Brent and Becky's bulbs is a good place to order from. I also got a catalog from John Scheeper's. They both have a huge selection and good reputations I believe. (What do I know, I've never ordered from either, but I hope to next year. :)

Plant bulbs in the fall, but try not to let the squirls know where you put them. :) Veggies go in after Memorial Day. You can put them in before, but you'll have to be prepared to cover them wahen there's a cold snap.
