hey peg, I started canning when I was in my 50's too and you are right, your never to old. I love your chicks and garden. I too have 3 acres but only till my garden when is 50x50. I canned 8 jars of salsa this year, and it turned out great. The only thing is you cannot taste what you are cooking/processing. Its after they have been in the jar for weeks and then judge. Happy canning.
