Rhonda Mullins commented on Bonnie Hannum ~ Missouri, USA's blog post Attracting Beneficial Insects with Self Sowing PlantsI shoot with a Nikon D700 and Nikon D 5000. Most of the Marco shots are with a Nikkor Macro asf 85mm . Photography is a hobby as much as gardening. I have been working for the last year on a garden devoted solely to attracting birds and butterflies. Collecting native plants, shrubs, flowers and seeds that are host plants to the local and migrating butterflies and those which attract birds for nesting or feeding. Its been a very interesting project. I have learned not only about the plants, but the insects, hosting and nectar plants, and been able to photograph the experience. I have incorporated bird feeders into the garden area along with several seating areas to watch the wildlife activity.
