Robert, it looks like a mocking bird.  The mocking birds that I have in my yard usually find the snakes and then I can take care of them since the mocking birds have eggs and chicks.

Ahha..... You're really ahead of us here in Ohio! We're just starting! I put a straight neck yellow squash in a container (It's not suppose to vine everywhere, so it says). We'll see.

I'm going to try and get some photos of this year's garden this weekend, if I can make the time. I didn't do corn this year because that just didn't pan out for me. Trying a pole bean and a bush bean this year, more tomatoes than last year and more squash than last year.

You are coming up on a photo anniversary! How are things looking this year? The corn was bionic and I loved all your baby squash!

Goodness, your blueberries are great! I can't seem to make mine grow. They don't die, but the roots never expand out. What do you do?

Well, what was left in my garden is done for after Irene.  Only 30 hours of high winds, most including rain.  I think we got over 12" of rain from her.  Winds into the 70s here.  I have a bit of minor roof damage and she…

Well, we had an earthquake yesterday and will be visited by Irene Saturday.  I wonder what else is going to happen on the east coast this week.

I use 3 peppers and 3 cloves of garlic in a blender too.  I then mix that to make a gallon of concentrate.  I use 1/4 cup of that concentrate to make a gallon of spray.  Seems to work pretty well too.  I do add a coupe tsps of…

I think I will get these yellow varieties next year. It is so hard to distinguish the green ones from the leaves :) Yours are so healthy looking too.

I love the steel framework for your toms Robert. We here in Ireland could not get enough warmth to grow ours outside though. I grow all mine in a home-made hot house and they do really well for me.

Bonnie, I hate to disagree with you, but Bt will not eradicate bees.  It will have absolutely no effect on bees.  Bt is a very specific insecticide.  It does depend on which strain you get as to which insects it will help to…

There is a pill for dogs called Comfortis that works really well at keeping the fleas off. I use it with both of my dogs. One takes it with no problems. The other spits it out if I am not sneaky enough when I give it to him.
