THE GREAT PACIFIC NORTHWEST

As much as I love the PNW and as beautiful it is, I find it hard this time of year to get more than one day or part of a day in the garden, so we have to take the opportunities as they come, so if I am neglecting my site at this time, forgive me my friends, you can find me in my GARDEN.....SANDY...

OMG! this site is growing by leaps and bounds.....

Hi Sandy, No I don't have any of the wild iris, when my husband and I had our ranch in cottage grove we had millions of them every year. After I lost him I had to move to my now two acres and I brought a few plants with me but they didn't survive. I have no idea why, I do know that they seemed to grow on the sunniest, driest hill on the ranch and maybe I pampered them to much. I have seen them in nurserys that carry native plants. Give it a try but don't pamper them . Bye for now, have a nice holiday. Diane

Hi Sandy, Thanks for the invitation. I haven't been on line for a few days, working morning till night in the garden. We have finally had some nice weather. 75* today and no rain in the forecast for a whole week. Everything is growing fast, including weeds but the roses are absolutely loaded with buds and will put on quite a show in a week or so. My tree peonys are in full bloom and the bush peonys will be in full bloom in a few days. I have a lot of both. Rhodies are blooming too so it's a great time to spend outside. Keep in touch Diane

Hi Sandy,
Thanks so much for your reply. It is great to be connected with you on this site. I don't know alot about gardening and flowers but it is fun to learn all I can when I have the time to work in the yard. When we moved to our location in 93 we had about 80 some roses bushes. My husband doesn't like caring for them. But I do love roses!! I don't have as many roses now but they are wonderful to enjoy. I notice when you buy roses in a flower shop they don't hardly have a scent like home grown ones do. I hope you can grow lots of wonderful things.
We will chat again some time.

Hi Sandy,
It is a very rainy day in Boise, ID today so will not be doing much outside. From my office window I can view three lilacs, a Pairie Fire crabapple, and a white hawthorne all in bloom. Makes the rainy day not so gloomy. Boise is a high desert area so I am grateful for the rain. Once the summer hits it will be a long hot dry spell and as long as it is not cold/windy I don't mind.
I need to work on getting some pictures on the site but right now there is not much to take pictures of. I am still making raised beds for my vegetable garden. I have everything growing under the patio cover until I can get them in the ground.
Talk to you later! Nancy
