Beautiful day in Central Illinois

Posted on October 19, 2009 at 7:48pm 0 Comments

The weather was beautiful today here. The short warm-up, however, go the orange beetles going full force. They're everywhere inside and outside. The time for the annuals is coming to an end this year, but the perennials are still doing fine especially the roses, the most reliable plant in the garden. Soon it'll all be dormant and covered with snow. Put to bed for another season. :)

Been unseasonally cooler

This time of the year schools are usually getting out early because of the heat. It's been pretty decent around here lately. It's very early fall-like. Appreciate not having the stifling heat that is typical for late August. My allergies haven't really kicked up that badly either. We inherited a new cat who has been hanging around alot this summer. I don't know about the plants, but I'm certainly having trouble adapting to this crazy weather. :)

Finally got around to posting photos.

I finally got around to posting some photos on my page. They're from a couple of days ago so there are lots of flowers that have not yet bloomed which gives me the opportunity to add more as the season progresses. Hope you enjoy the tour of our backyard. :)

Sandy, My husband almost bought me my first Japanese Maple today but it was so windy at the garden center that it was hard to see them and some were turned over from the wind. I will just have to wait a little longer but that will make it so much better.
