Houseplants

Thumbnail
From a very young age, I have loved houseplants. I would love to hear about what types of plants you have, and any stories you might have about how you acquired your plant or plants. Would also love to see pictures of your houseplants.

How much time do you spend a week on average in your garden when weather permits?
Every day from spring till fall if i can

Hi from Memphis Michigan , I started gardening seriously about 4 years ago, around the same time my kids were old enough to not need me as much I found gardening to be just as my fun as being a parent ( all plants are different and need different stuff). Even though my biggest help when I need muscle is my son. I'm still surprised when a plant takes off or in the spring when everything comes back to life. Having more people to share this with is funn thanks for the forum

I now work as the gardener at the Emmett KOA Kamp ground,it is so rewarding to drive by and see my handy work in there garden.I'm also the breakfast cook ther and help out with the activities.."great out side job!"

I'm searching for that door into summer. Oklahoma has had enough snow and ice.

Hi Sheila, the plant is called "Bleeding Heart Vine" (clerodendrum thomsoniae..I looked it up...(just googled bleeding heart vine)... not that I knew this off the top of my head!). This is a different plant than the bleeding heart (decentra). It is hardy to Zone 11. It is a fast growing vine and also very interesting...the blooms start off as you see in the pic and then sort of 'dry' into a pink color...I'll post some pics to show you either tonite or tomorrow.
