The English Garden

LONG LONG AGO, IN A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY, (oh, about thirty years ago) (Nebraska) we raised our family in a beautiful, circa 1900 two story home, complete with a gable of windows jutting out over the large front porch where the swing welcomed long hours of quiet relaxation. Our home resided on an avenue where large oaks and maples graced our view and separated us from our neighbors across a wide exspanse, and provided the most spectacular visions after heavy wet snows and freezing ice storms…See More

You know you're over the hill when buying and planting your very first wisteria is the highlight of your day. I have to admit that the excitement is bubbling up inside me, and tommorow morning won't come too soon. That's when I drag my man out to the yard to dig the hole for it. He digs the hole, then I plant it and take all the credit for it. Works for me!

Hey Shirley-How are you doing this summer? I certainly remember the name of your beautiful town in Georgia. Love it. I got to travel there tonight. Your photos are gorgeous. Especially the irises. Love the pink, white and variation on purple and white. love them all.
Here are a few for you.

Shirley, That sounds fantastic and quaint. I wish that i could too but if not i can see your area here on cyberspace which is a wonderful place that we have here. I enjoy sharing my garden with others. I do a garden tour every year and when it is over I feel a little let down. I love to talk with the people who come. Now with GI, I have an audience who likes to see my garden and I theirs.
