Rudbeckia brown leaves

The leaves of my Rudbeckia are brown and shriveled up but the flowers are fine.  My neighbor's look the same.  Anyone have any idea why that would be.  It's been a wet summer, so it seems odd.See More

Grow lights

I want to invest some of my plant sale money in getting some good grow lights.  I use fluorescent lights now but my plants get a little spindly under them. Any suggestions?See More

Mystery plant

Wondering if anyone know the name of this. I bought it at a garage sale. It seeds itself and pops up all over now in the spring with fernlike leaves and delicate yellow flowers. I eventually pull it out to make way for other plants. It doesn't get…

It rather looks like a dutch-man's breechs that you would see in the woods, doesn't it? I have provided a link to the Perennial resource guide for you to compare and see if this is the plant - http://www.perennialresource.com/encyclopedia/view/?plant=182

Hi Susan, I haven't been on the my computer lately. Just trying to survive this COLD Florida spell. Sanibel Island was mid-twenties last night!!. I will be home in Minnesota beginning of Feb. and will start my "Winter Seed Sowing". Will post photos and what I am doing. Try this way of planting this year. I think you will enjoy the process and be surprised with how easy it.

Hi Susan,

It has been aweful cold here in Vermont as well. I have been trying to focus on Spring coming and the garden shows coming up to take my mind off the snow. I am planning to move in the Spring to my 8 acres in Cavendish so I will be starting out with a blank canvas as far as planting goes. Excited but nervous. Never have taken on such a big task. There are lots of stone walls on the property so will tie those into the landscaping. Your pictures are beautiful. We have a nursery up here in Newfane that specializes in Day Lillies. When I sell my home to move up to the property I am taking all my perennials! :)
