Hi Thelma, isn't the picture of the swan and the eagle great???I love it and the swan did get away..nice to see you here, this is a fun site...you'll enjoy
Hi Thelma. Thanks for the invite. I think you're asking about how to get the butterflies to get in your hand, in general I'm not really sure, but if they are drinking/ thirsty then you can put a little water in your hand and slowly put your hand up to them in front...just like a caterpiller, daddy longlegs, lightning bug/ firefly etc. (Sometimes you don't even need to be slow). They may walk right in, or you may need to slowly and gently encourage them to. If you can calmly sit in a garden with a lot of butterflies you can do the same thing with water or fruit. Good luck. :-)
BTW: if you do like Bonnie said to begin with it will show all the groups (currently 139)...on the left side just above the listings of groups is a search box. Type in a word and it will show you the ones with that word/words. -)
Thelma, you only belong to hummingbird plants, to join into birds in the garden, go to groups, on the top of your home page, 3rd from the right side on top. Click on it and it will open to all the groups they are offering. Look for Birds in the Garden, might be on the next page or 3rd page etc, click on it and open the group. Now scroll down to where you see to comment on this group you must join it first. click that and it should join you in. If you need more help let me know and I'll see if I can do it for you. Bonnie
Hi Thelma, Just read about your trumpet vine, I would put it in the ground...My thoughts are it would be better protected, than if it were only in pots. I have a trumpet vine I'm in z5 NEPA and it has wintered over nicely, never a problem. You can always place straw or mulch over it to help protect it from the cold, ice and snow. Hope that helps! Judi
I thought I left you a note but now I'm not sure I did it right. Anyhow... I was wondering where you"ve been? Thought we lost you!! lol Your poage looks nice and I love all your pictures. Keep up the good work!
Thelma,
Thanks for the tip! I'm looking for the vinegar now...hmmm...may have to wait for my wife to return. LOL.
I'll definitely have to try it out.

The purple plant is Heuchera Purple Palace. It's a perennial and very easy to maintain. I planted two of the Purple Palace and also Heuchera Obsidian in this same area. This is their second year and the color is even more beautfiul this year.
