Beekeeping in the city

I have a good sized yard for being in the city, and I want to start a hive. I have spent weeks researching everything I could on the topic, but I am still left with one question. Is it safe with 3 young boys? Ages 2, 5, and 8? The place I would keep the bees is fenced off in my garden, but still only about 8 feet away from where the kids play. I could use experienced opinions here please.See More

Welcome to Garden-Share! First, check out the Group page for garden-related groups and topics you may be interested in. Joining a few groups is a good way to get started on Garden-Share.

Also, there are Videos to watch (how-to, even funny!), Blogs to read (informative, entertaining), Photos to look at (beautiful, unusual), and new friends to meet. If you have photos (or videos) of flowers, vegetable gardens, or other garden-related photos, please share them with us - I'd love to see photos of your garden!

PS - If you have a photo of yourself, flowers, or your garden that you can add as your profile picture, that would be great :)
