"I'm SO itching to get some gardening in - or go spend the day at a botanical garden greenhouse with these warmer temps we're having in Alabama."

"Very happy girl to get the new Burpee catalog recently. I'm in a new subdivision with minimal landscaping done in my yard. I like perennials and tropicals. Any suggestions? Also, how and when to start making flower beds? Happy New Year everyone."

"Tess, So your interest is gardening plus dogs? I have a bichon, Maddie Mae who sorta runs my life. She does help keep the bunnies out, though. Your puppies are very cute! We are knee deep in snow here in Michigan. Judy"

Tess, my two Maltese (Jeb & Beau - for CSA Generals J.E.B. Stuart & P.G.T. Beauregard) wanted me to tell you that they'd like to meet Dixie! Cosmo they think might be a competitor for her affection.

Cryptomerias (especially the species japonica) are relatively fast growers, take sun and quite a bit of shade too. Japanese use them for lumber and they like our heat/humidity. Should do nicely for you, make a great screen/backdrop to plant in front of.
