Contributing GardenerWillis L. Johnson from GA Z8A said… Tess, my two Maltese (Jeb & Beau - for CSA Generals J.E.B. Stuart & P.G.T. Beauregard) wanted me to tell you that they'd like to meet Dixie! Cosmo they think might be a competitor for her affection.
Cryptomerias (especially the species japonica) are relatively fast growers, take sun and quite a bit of shade too. Japanese use them for lumber and they like our heat/humidity. Should do nicely for you, make a great screen/backdrop to plant in front of.
