cold weather

well.. where I am at we should be getting our hard freeze either tonight or tomorrow night. I know that here in zone 4 it is that time but it still make me a little sad. Did bring in 2 mandivilla (not too sure about the spelling) that i grew this summer and put them under grow light in my basement. I do not know if they will suvrive the winter there but I am going to try and see. Did get alot of fall clean up done this season and planted about 100 bulbs on various types. Hello, I am new to this site and wanting to talk and learn from fellow gardeners. I live in Iowa and have just finshed a two year degree in horticultural sciences and am hoping to find a job in this indrustry. I am planning to have my own greenhouse and nursery within the next 5 to 7 years if things go my way LOL! I have learned alot over the past 2 years but there is always more to learn. "I used to take mine in for the winter and store in the garage.  A couple of years ago, I planted in my beds and left them out all winter.  They did much better.  I'm a Zone 5 in South/Central Indiana - Seymour. "
