Compost rotating barrells

Posted on May 18, 2011 at 5:36pm 2 Comments

I currently just have a large area (8ft x 8ft) that I just pile up yard waste and wait til it turns itself into compost.  I was concidering buying one of those barrels that spin around.. but dont know if its worth the money.. does anyone have anything positive to say about them, or made one themselves??

Welcome Tom.  My greenhouse, 12'x10'x10'peak, is mainly for storing non hardy succulents, and some water plants.  I use 2 electric heaters, along with a propane infrared heater on super cold days.  Most of my plants survive if the storms don't blow out a window or door.  I use a $14 remote thermometer from Home Depot to monitor the temp, which I try to keep above 45deg.  In Oklahoma it's a challenge to keep any sturcture standing, so far so good.
