Jump in any time, Kay.  I'm just sitting here pretending I can do garden work.  If I did all I dreamed about, I could sell tickets.

Things are looking better here in Texas.  Recent rain has put some green back into our world.  Hoping for Spring rain in South Texas.

Welcome Friends! Please Say Hello!

Hi! My name is Tracey and I live in beautiful Lancaster County, Pa with my husband Rich, and two children Tim and Heidi. We moved here from Connecticut 10 years ago and built our home on a lot that was nothing but clay, weeds, and overrun with bunnies. Every tree and shrub (there are over 100) we put in ourselves, as well as a large butterfly garden, a 5x30 foot perennial bed, a raised bed vegetable garden, a goldfish pond and multiple other beds around the property. Now that it's 9 years later (and I'm 9 years older!) I have to weed, water and deadhead all by myself! It's a lot of work, but I thoroughly enjoy it and look forward coming here for inspiration and exchange of ideas with all the wonderful people I've met along the way.

Boy, Did I Get Told Off!

Posted on April 15, 2010 at 1:54pm 9 Comments

Yup, I was put in my place, told to mind my own "bzzzzness," and real good! Thought I'd like to have some freshly cut flowers on the kitchen table - rounded the corner of the yard and the Nellie Stevens Holly was all in full bloom with maybe a couple hundred buzzing little bees having a good ole time dancing around the pretty white blossoms. Well, I guess I wasn't invited to the party because they promptly told me "GO AWAY!". Okay, I can take a hint, I told them. No need to get your wings out… Continue

Hurry Up, April!

Posted on March 27, 2010 at 6:33am 0 Comments

All in all, March hasn't been bad at all here in south central PA. We've had some spectacular days allowing me to get in there and really do some spring clean up. Pansies are in their windowbox on the shed, in the wheelbarrow and by the front door, but boy am I itching to do some serious planting! The other day I drove by my favorite nursery, and it was like an itch that couldn't be scratched - too early! Just watch out....another month and I'll be doing some serious damage!
It's funny how…

Just poking around on this snowy Tuesday and spotted your "getting told off"  post.  LOL  It sure doesn't look like we'll be planting outside anytime soon. But I did pick up a pack of basil and oh dear .. another summer herb. Well I could start those inside couldn't I?
