"Easy to lose the names, isn't it? My profile pic is one with orange flowers. No name--I traded it for some smaller ones and nursed it back to health. There are some good sources online to lead you in the direction of hybrid names--Pentico…"

Hungry Hummers

"What a great video. I've never seen so many hummingbirds in one spot. I get them frequently in my yard (CA central coast), but always only one at a time. Two or more immediately becomes a war over territory. I don't have a feeder, just…"

"Hello, Debra. I'm new here and looking for other epiphyllum lovers. It looks like you have at least two--this one and in your profile pic. We seem to be in the same zone (9), but I see you're in So. California. I'm up here on the…"

"Hi, Freddy. I've posted a few of my pics--mostly epiphyllums, because they are my passion. I have maybe 50+ different hybrids. Next to epis, I like peanut cacti and rebutia the best. I've only just begun growing ferns and perennials and…"

"Gorgeous epiphyllum! So healthy and balanced and, of course, knockout blooms. I've never seen a whole plant of Pegasus. It's quite attractive. Thanks for sharing. Trisha p.s. to Evelyn: Yes, it is a cactus--a jungle cactus (hybrid), as…"

"Thanks, Dale. I had seen your closeup in the first post. I tried to find a pic here, but no luck (too lazy to search my photo bank). Our plants look the same in closeup bud as well. I love mine, no matter whether it's a Diso or an Epi. All the…"

Hey Trisha. I have a few epiphytes. I collect a lot of different succulents; right now I'm working with caudiciforms. Trying to create some slow sculpture. Like the euphorbia decaryi and others. I have to keep most of them in greenhouse over winter. I keep a few prize specimens in the house and the others go dormant, trying to keep them over 45deg. Lose a few each year, but heating is expensive. Love collecting, though.

Welcome. I am a Master Gardener growing succulents in central OK. Most of mine are not Oklahoma hardy and go in the greenhouse each winter. Hope to see some pics of yours soon.
