Hope you are able to get one. They looked a bit bigger than mine. Just have to get yourself a filter system for the right size. I have water hyacinths on craigslist...have toooo many and I only bought 2 this year. They seem to have gone out of control with the rain and humid nights we have had. If you need any let me know. Or you can look them up under the farm and garden page LAWN/GARDEN PONDS. They are a good size to start with if you at still thinking of a pond.

Vickey, I got my pond from Meders near route 51 (Century Three)...it is a complete pond kit. If I was doing it now with what I know I would do a pond liner with a larger pump than what I got. Like my fish we started out small and now that the fish are big I think I should have gone big. Put up a blog and I'm sure you will get lots of ideas. Hoping for rain also...but not holding my breath. My rain barrels are empty so the hose attached to the house will be out tomorrow.

Hello Vickey, the water that you see in my pictures is the lake we have at our cabin in Confluence, pa. We belong to a private club "Clairton Anglers" not far from the Yough River. Hi Vickey, I know the area where you live. We shop in Penn Hills a lot. I don't know about a pond. Mine is small(too small). Before you start you need electric nearby, need to know if you are going to have fish, plants, water falls, etc. I would go to the Pittsburgh Ponds out near Hulton Road on the way to New Kensington, North Hills ponds in Monroeville and any other pond place to get as much info as you can. Plants can be very expensive. You need to cover the water to keep the algae down. If you get a problem you need time to address the problem and correct it. I am home all day so I have the time to do it, just have trouble getting up and down to do it.
I don't even call what we got rain...it was sprinkles both yesterday and today. My daughter in Bethel Park got hail, and heavy rain for 5 minutes and it was over. By the way the man who hit me in 2000 now works at Western Psy. Again small world. Hoping for some more rain - just a nice light drizzle all night? Yea Right?

I am in Liberty Boro(near Mckeesport) up on a hill. No problem with water here. Just a lack of it now. Will be good to get a little tomorrow to fill my rainbarrels again. Where in Penn Hills? My husband drives for ACCESS everyday there and my daughter lives just off Saltsburg Rd on the Verona end. Small world isn"t it? Going to try to get some mulch down in the front yard today if i don't melt in the heat. Watered the birds this AM - gave them a plastic container with water to take some baths in and filled the 2 birdbaths. Had to top off the pond also before the filter system started sucking air. By the way Dorian Gray looks like one of my strays I rescued a couple years ago. Had to take him to the shelter since I had 3 dogs and 3 cats at the time. He would be 6 year old now. I do love cats but we have 2 Min Pins and a small house. Salad you make sounds good right now. I have been eating lettuce(from the garden) every day for lunch and will be having some for dinner tonight also. Maybe have to get together some day since we are so close to eat other. Do you work every day? I am on disability now. Had a car accident and stroke. But you can't keep me out of the garden.

Don't know what the pooch is for sure...Walker hunting dog , something to that effect! Daughter rescued him from animal shelter--he won her heart!! I mistakenly joked ..Lets name him Tripod!! Whoa not the right thing to say...His name is Hunter but I call him Moose!! lol HE takes me for walks not the other way around!!lol
