Effects of warm winter on 2012 growing season

I hope you all enjoyed the respite from harsh winters, but I am wondering how that will impact this growing season. What have you been seeing or hearing from expert gardeners? What are you doing differently?I am not a news fan, do if they are chatting about it on TV, I wouldn't know.I have onion, radish and poppies in already and a bunch of things in the "cold frame" I purchased. Anyone think it is safe to start other things. I have raised beds for the first year- that may make a difference…See More

Hi Wendy, I start everything outdoors, including my beans.  I have added some new pictures of my veggies that I have not put in my garden yet.  Transplanting everything to 6" pots until my garden is ready.

Wendy,
Thanks I am glad that you enjoyed the photos... I would love to take credit for them but can only take half the credit since I only grew them.. lol  My hubby took most of the photos. He used an old digital Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 to take them....  :-)

It was about 25 years ago that I was in MN, and we didn't go to the garden.  I actually spent most of the time sick, as usually happens when I travel. :(

There are so many gardens that I'd love to go to, but being my Mom and Grandma's caretaker, I have to put a lot of things off. At this point, I take inspiration from pictures, and my goal is to make my small garden one of note.
