"I also use metal rings, comes in roll w/ squares about 2" x 4" . Just cut off length to surround plant and then reuse every yr. Just put them in ground when plants start to come up, easier than when the plants are already up and blooming."

I don't have a creek (insert jealous look here), but mine are in the woods where it's shady and loamy. I'll try and make sure they stay watered and see if that helps

Hi Densie,
I have been trying for a couple of years to get Mayapples established. I started with 3, yes only 3. That's all I could find. Last year they increased to 5, but no sign of them yet this year.
