Ed Evans said… Thanks to all for the welcome. Today is Tuesday, March 5th, and Nashville, Tenn., has been experiencing cold, intermittant rain and snow. Had a brief warm break a few weeks ago and got started on the beds, but Thurs-Sat. promise to be 45-55 degree weather and dry, so hope to get out and set up 3-4 more raised beds. Two-thirds of the backyard is flowers and relaxing area, a third for fruit and vegetables. Planning to grow more vegetables this year, so turning grass space into raised beds. Have a bank of blackberries along the north side of the back yard, and three heavily producing fig trees, with raspberries in between two of the fig trees. Three compost pits form the eastern edge of the vegetable garden, along with an old potting shed that needs to be replaced. Planning to put in couple of connected ponds on the other side of the back yard this year, if I find the time. That side of the yard has a miniature magnolia tree, lots of Hosta varieties, ferns, flowers that reseed themselves, and rooted greenery that bursts forth as soon as spring arrives. Lots to do, but I'm bless, and I love being in the garden. Always feel closer to my God there.

BK Peters said… Thank you for accepting me. I am so looking forward to seeing all the beautiful garden plants and getting hints for my garden on this site.
I just moved into my new apartment last March and did some new planting, but won't get to enjoy the fruits of my labor till this spring. Also I am anxious to go shopping for more plants. I will be planting a Weeping Cherry Tree as soon as possible.
I would like to find a place to buy 'untampered' with seeds. That means seeds that are pure and not gene spliced. Any such companies still out there? BK Peters
Rebecca Braunm said… Thank you very much! I think this is wonderful! I love to put pictures of my boyfriend's and my garden! We had so much fun last year, and can't wait to get back in the dirt! Hopefully someone will help me figure out how to post them on here, and how to set up my page. I really want to make the most of this club.
