Well where do you start I love flowers and colour so I went out and brought books from the 2nd hand book store lot cheaper than the shops. I browsed through all the photos and picked out the favourite annuals I would like in the garden. I wrote these down on a list then went to nursery and picked out my favourite plants by the punnet pictures and added these to my list . Next I went to the seed section where you buy packets of seeds and looked up all my favourite plants I had…

Sorry Willis, really not gloating. The purple Tibos are seen everywhere here. By the way hubby said to me the Tibo is not 15ft tall its well over 20ft. I guess I am not a very good judge of heights being so darned short myself.

Rub it in ladies. Reminds me of wild Rhododendrons on trails in Oregon I used to hike to get to favorite fishing lakes. Can't grow them or your T's here in the Southeast though.

Willis, my purple Tibouchina is about 15 ft tall. It was in garden 8 yrs ago when we moved in and looked so pretty and provided privacy from neighbour, so we let it be.
I would love a pink one like Lillians though! That is superb.

Wow! Our tibouchinas are relative small perennials that die back each winter. Had no idea you could grow tree like species. Fantastic. You must be close to tropical climate zone wise eh?

Lillian, I didn't even realise it came in Pink! Its stunning!! I love it, mine is just the normal old purple situated in old part of garden when we moved in. Think I am going to have to ask for a cutting of yours when you pop down to NSW…

Lillian, it looks beautiful. You can use it as a brilliant ground cover, it looks especially stunning set against purple leaved plants.
Who'd have thought one tiny plant could be divided up so many times!
So pleased this took off for you.

- Well lovely Lillian, my brom has now grown purple flowers on the tip of that big pink brushy thing. It is so beautiful. Where did you get your broms from, they all seem to be from very healthy stock. I am totally loving the ones you gave me!!

I thought I heard some screaming in the distance, so I just checked my e-mail and saw your message. I AM SO EXCITED THAT YOU GOT IT! My husband is, too. We think it is so cool that this birdhouse made its way half way around the world to you! Take your time in deciding on the right spot for it and send lots of pictures from different angles. It will be so cool to show my family and friends the birdhouse i painted hanging from your garden in Australia!

Hi Lillian... I saw your beautiful Broms on lyn's page. Question ?, I'm in the U. S. A., South Carolina (down South). I know its a tropical plant. I was inspired to buy a brom and it bloomed. I did not cover over the winter and the frost may have killed it, not certain. Do they turn brown and return or should I plant another ?... Happy Gardening !
