Great garden news

Hi,  I hope everyone has been able to take advantage of the unusual weather in the Northeast.  Suprisingly I found broccolli and some late started cauliflower still to be found in my garden today.  Has anyone taken the agriculture certificate program if so what did you think.

I've been saving my own flower seeds for quite a few years. I found that choosing the biggest, brightest flower etc., to dry brings the strongest genes for the next year. Then I started growing a few veg. and my Black Pearl Peppers are now from my own peppers for about 5 years. I have done the easy herbs like parsley (which actually self-sow here) and am learning how to get the more advanced ones to set seed for me. I still buy some, though, as, like all of us, have just so many feet of lights and time to pot on. Some things just grow so easy from seed too. Zinnias for example. I always grow them in pots now, as the foliage stays nice and it looks awful when I plant in ground. They make a nice tall plant for a pot anyway, and the flowers really last here. This is a harsh climate, so anything that lasts outside becomes a yearly plant for me. Thanks for friending me. Good gardening, Marian

Welcome to Garden-Share! You might want to start by checking out the Group page for garden-related groups and topics you may be interested in. Joining a few groups is a great way to meet other gardeners and get started on Garden-Share.

Also, there are Videos to watch (how-to, humor), Blogs to read (informative, entertaining), Photos to look at (beautiful, unusual, inspiring), and new friends to meet. If you have photos (or videos) of your plants or garden, please share them - I'd love to see your photos!

PS - If you have a photo that you could use as your profile photo, please upload that, too :)
